CTIS boosted by new support

2021-01-23

January 20, 2021 (Shanghai, China) Global Sources, the organizer of the Consumer Technology & Innovation Show (CTIS), has formed a partnership with the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation (CIETC) and the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM), with the two institutions signing up as supervising organizations of CTIS in addition to China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development.

The first-ever CTIS will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on June 9 to 11, 2021. The event features three co-located shows: the Global Technology & Innovations Show (GTIS), the Global Electronics Show (GES) and the Global Startup Launchpad (GSL), which focus on the complementary themes of technology, trade, and innovation respectively. The brand-new event is set to be a prestigious annual consumer technology exhibition, rooted in China and facing outward to the rest of the world. More than 50 percent of the exhibition booths have been sold since the CTIS project was officially launched in August 2020.

CIETC is an international cooperation and trade promotion bureau under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It offers support to facilitate international cooperation, conduct policy research, and build trade show platforms with the aim of enhancing the competitive edge of China’s industrial communication enterprises and enabling them to develop their business worldwide.

STCSM is a municipal government department in charge of science and technology development in Shanghai. As one of the supervising organizations of CTIS, STCSM will offer innovation resources, discover outstanding innovation projects, and support innovative high-tech enterprises’ participation in the show, to transform their product ideas into business value. CTIS will feature diverse onsite activities such as the Startup Pitch Competition, investor party, and Global Sources Match, connecting innovative high-tech enterprises with tens of millions of buyers from home and abroad.

With support from CIETC and STCSM, CTIS will be built as a highly influential event for innovative technology and global trade.
