“We are glad to partner with Global Sources and build CTIS as the premier annual trade and networking event in the consumer technology industry,” said Mr. Li Xiaojun. “With the collaboration of the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation and Economic View, I believe that the show will serve as an excellent platform for Chinese enterprises to demonstrate their products and sharpen their competitive edge in the international market.”

Mr. Hu Wei said: “CTIS is launched in response to the ‘dual circulation’ development policy introduced in China this year and is designed as a major world-class technology event in Shanghai.

“Global Sources has 50 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry and has successfully organized the world’s leading consumer electronics show in Hong Kong for many years. Our in-depth industry expertise enables CTIS to offer a great platform for China’s enterprises to showcase their latest innovations and, at the same time, create opportunities for overseas companies to enter China’s domestic market. We are looking forward to working with a broader range of partners to develop CTIS as a leading industry event not only in Shanghai and China, but also in the rest of the world.”

Three co-located shows with complementary themes

With publicity, inspiration and networking as its core value, CTIS comprises three themed shows: Global Technology & Innovations Show (GTIS), Global Electronics Show (GES) and Global Startups Launchpad (GSL), which will feature a large collection of the latest technologies and solutions in 5G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), AR/VR, consumer electronics, mobile electronics, smart living, smart home, security, home appliances, e-sports and entertainment, and health and personal care products. Experience zones featuring digital health products, lifestyle, electric personal transporters, drones, and e-sports products provide a more immersive visitor experience.

Visitors to CTIS will not only discover the latest technologies from industry leaders and the innovations and creativity of startups, but also have the opportunity to close in person with established brands and network with technology enthusiasts from all around the world.

CTIS contributes to forming the “dual circulation” development pattern

China introduced a “dual circulation” development model in 2020, in the context of a new global economic environment, in which domestic and foreign markets can boost each other, with the domestic market expected to serve as the mainstay. Global Sources launched CTIS to help Chinese enterprises grow business by seizing opportunities in both domestic and overseas markets. GlobalSources.com has more than 10 million registered buyers from 240 countries and regions, including 1.5 million active buyers each month. A large buyer community is an essential prerequisite for CTIS to offer trade opportunities in China and worldwide.

The first CTIS is expected to attract more than 80,000 visitors, including many purchasing decision makers from government procurement delegations, embassies and consulates, sourcing groups, industry leaders, distributors, chain stores, and online stores. CTIS will drive an increasing number of technology firms to move up the value chain by connecting industry leaders with supply-chain companies, to forge industrial clusters with significant innovation and competitive manufacturing strength.

In addition to innovative products, the show will feature keynote speeches focusing on cutting-edge technologies, as well as industry forums, and the Startup Launchpad investment competition, gathering industry experts, leading companies, and start-ups to share market insights and innovation trends. CTIS offers a platform not only for established companies to enhance their brand awareness, but also for startups to find the right business partners.

Preparations for the first CTIS are now in full swing. From the beginning of 2021, roadshows and media salons will be held in different cities to share the latest updates on the show.

Located in Shanghai, a major international destination for conventions and exhibitions, CTIS will grow as a quality platform that features a diverse range of consumer technologies, facilitates networking and partnership, and energizes the consumer electronics industry through innovation.
